Thich Nhat Hanh
Thich Nhat Hanh was born in central Vietnam in 1926 but has been living in exile from Vietnam since 1966, when his pacifism led him to being banned by both the non-Communist and Communist governments. His life long efforts to generate peace and reconciliation moved Martin Luther King, Jr. to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967. When not travelling the world to teach ‘The Art of Mindful Living’, he teaches, writes and gardens in Plum Village, France, a Buddhist monastery for monks and nuns.
